Lowest Common Denominator in our Schools
With the recent push by officials to better measure success of schools, it is amazing how quickly districts and their leadership act to undermine efforts to evaluate. This from the state of Texas where school systems are debating a practice for "normalizing" scores to minimize the statistical impact of students who fail to meet the standards.

From the article, school administrators and district leaders are fighting to continue their "grading on a curve" manipulation of the comparative measurements. By deeming failures as "passed" based on the assumption that they will pass next year, the schools and districts simply declare success where it does not exist.
It is little wonder that our schools graduate students unable to acheive success in the real world.
