Union Expansion Via Healthcare Deform

Many are discussing the consequences to and upcoming unequal treatment of "non-union" employees with the Democrat’s Healthcare Reform legislation. With the negotiation of sweetheart tax-exemption deals for Labor Union members and their "Cadillac" healthcare plans (see Politico link), small-to-medium sized businesses and their non-unionized employees are soon to see their insurance costs rise creating yet another Democrat-created impediment to private sector jobs and job creation.
As these blogs suggest (Heritage #1 & Heritage #2), these negotiations (aka – legislative paybacks to political supporters on the backs of American taxpayers) will serve to diminsh coverage to millions who current have it.
Interestingly, one of the notes that I have not seen is the fact that this deal will likely be used by Unions as leverage in Certification Elections. How beneficial might it be for Unions to show that, by voting to certify and become Unionized, employees could automatically benefit from this exemption. How convenient that Democratic politicians are legislating an exemption that benefits Democratic political supporters to be financed by American taxpayers.
Oh, I forgot – outright bribes, unequal treatment, andback-door dealing have been the rule (not the exception) during this round of Healthcare Deform!
