Organizers planned for a rally that they'd claimed would be the "largest gathering of Occupy protesters so far" - expecting up to 10,000.
A group numbering in the "hundreds" showed up................

As of 11:15PM, less than an hour before the deadline, leaders from both parties announced an agreement to to cut nearly $40B from the budget. Even without the policy riders in the compromise, Democrats agreed to allow a Senate up-or-down vote on both the defunding of Planned Parenthood and Obama-Care.

As can be seen by the graphic, there is a clear divide within the state of Georgia visible (largely) within the urban Atlanta counties (Fulton, Dekalb, Clayton, and Rockdale) and along a line from Savannah thru Macon to Augusta. Outside of these specific areas, Democrats have strength in some south Georgia counties and the lone northern Democratic oasis in Athens-Clarke.
